The SWAMP REVIEW
An Ode to Heartbreak
by Curtis Swanson
Even the performance of romance
Could give way to heartbreak,
Though the hopeful trance
Enshrouds the mistake,
Of being so trustful,
So naive with love
The memory still joyful,
But bittersweet above
That sense of spring still enshrining
The nostalgic tint,
The heart still pining
For one small hint
Burning in the dark
Lies the hint there,
The song of a lark
Or a smile so fair,
Forever the heart impassioned with love,
Forever a joy of connection unrequited.
