Scarlet Contemplation

by Eden

Wow, I’m amazed!

 I don't know what to say…

Red is too general,

Burgundy is too dark

Cherry red: not precise

This is tough, describing a ravishing woman.

No, I know, her long straight hair is scarlet.

This veil around her face sublimes her perfect face.

To picture her,

All I need is to close my eyes.

I see her face and her scarlet hair,

Her pleated skirt, her white shirt with frills.

Above all, what I see is a round white thing,

And there are strawberries!

I know, it’s a cake!

Yes, she is holding a strawberry cream cake in her delicate hands.

She is so close, yet so far away.

All I can do is contemplate her,

All I can do is hear her,

But I can’t come any closer.

I can only love her from where I am.
